Ellen Whitaker Conrad is a trained culinarian who formerly owned and operated Country Cuisine Catering and Bakery for 20 years in the New York Hudson Valley before moving to Ohio in 1997.

Ellen  earned degrees in Hotel and Restaurant Management (Schenectady Community College Culinary School), and Psychology and Music (Hope College) , and a Master of Education (Kent State University).  Prior to Ellen's retirement in 2007, she had taught culinary arts the previous 10 years at the Mahoning County Career  and Technical Center in Canfield, Ohio.  She has studied traditional Tuscan cuisine at Apicius Institute Culinary School in Florence, Italy. This new endeavor of Country Cuisine Cooking School has been a dream and goal for many years.
